Suhail al-Hassan is one of the most prominent officers of the regime forces, known for his brutality during the regime’s operations in Syrian cities, and is one of the closest allies to Russia.
Suhail al-Hassan led the Tiger Forces, which participated in the bombing of Syrian cities and the displacement of their residents, especially in Aleppo and Ghouta.
He is considered the only officer who appeared with the regime’s president, Bashar al-Assad, alongside Russian President Vladimir Putin during his visit to the Russian military base in Hmeimim, located on the Syrian coast.
Suhail al-Hassan’s military rank has risen over the past years, reaching the rank of Major General in 2023, and in 2024, he was named the commander of the special forces.
