Chemical attacks in Syria began in 2012 and continued until 2019, resulting in 262 chemical attacks that caused the deaths of 3,423 people and injured 13,947 others.
In October 2012, the Chemical Violations Documentation Center of Syria was established. It has since been dedicated to documenting incidents and evidence of chemical weapons use, aiming to achieve justice for the victims and their families under international law and human rights laws.
Over the past 11 years, the Chemical Violations Documentation Center of Syria has worked on documenting and investigating war crimes. The center conducts research and evidence collection following global methodologies used by fact-finding bodies and international investigative committees.
