From Syria to Ukraine: Chemical Weapons as Lethal Tools Used by Oppressive Regimes Without Accountability

The United States has accused Russia of using chemical weapons in Ukraine, specifically involving chloropicrin, a substance banned under the Chemical Weapons Convention.

 

Russia has denied these American accusations, calling them “baseless.”

The United States also stated that Russia’s support for the Syrian regime enabled the use of chemical weapons, particularly after the chemical attack on Ghouta in 2018.
